2-rotor rotary tedder Z525
Lightweight 2,7 m tedder for quick drying of fresh forage on smaller plots.
The Z525 is a compact variant for farms that need simple tedding after mowing and easy maneuvering in smaller areas. Well-selected driving speed and PTO speed help spread the fresh forage without excessive contamination of the fodder.
Fast, even drying
Tedding is intended to loosen the swath and increase air access, but without breaking the material or mixing it with the soil. For small plots of land, the Z525 is convenient because it does not require a large tractor and is easy to maneuver.
Spreading the swath accelerates moisture release.
Good shaking reduces the risk of uneven drying and helps prepare the material for further work.
The low weight makes it easier to work on small plots.
The lightweight design reduces demands on the tractor and helps with short headlands.
Correct tine height protects forage quality.
The tines should not aggressively pick the ground. Feed cleanliness is as important as drying speed.
How to select and set up a machine
After mowing
The machine is intended for spreading freshly cut, low-stem green plants and wilted hay - the aim is to accelerate the drying of the mass.
Tine height
The tines are supposed to work in the swath, not in the soil. The height is set by support wheels with a spacing of 1400 mm.
Speed and terrain
Operating speed 6–12 km/h. The maximum terrain slope during operation is 8,5°, and the transport speed cannot exceed 15 km/h.
Key technologies
Tine clearance above the ground
At the front of the rotors, the tines work from 6 to 10 mm above the ground. The drawing shows the structure of the machine seen from the rear - linkage suspension, PTO shaft, belt transmission, two counter-rotating rotors and support wheels - and how the selected setting changes the position of the frame in relation to the wheels.
The tines are closest to the ground, but still remain above it. The frame with rotors is the lowest in relation to the support wheels.
The middle value shows the headroom between both limits of the range. The frame and both rotors lift by half the difference.
The tines remain at the highest height provided for in this setting. The support wheels guide the frame highest.
Two rotors, one direct power-flow path
Choose a point on the machine and see how the compact Z525 transmits power from the PTO through the belt transmission to the two counter-rotating rotors.

Linkage suspension and PTO input
The upper mast and lower attachment points connect the tedder to the tractor's three-point system. The drive enters the machine from the PTO and then goes to a single belt transmission.
Belt transmission in a figure-eight system
A belt running between the wheels changes the direction of operation of one rotor relative to the other. The tensioner sets the required deflection, so the drive remains simple and serviceable.
A pair of counter-rotating rotors
Two discs work side by side and ten arms spread the mown material across the entire width. Double spring tines enter the swath without a stiff scraper.
Two wheels under the rotors
Support wheels guide the rear part of the machine above the ground and provide stable support even when standing still. Their wide spacing stabilizes both working units.
